This picture is of a basilisk. If you haven't read the second Harry Potter book, don't continue.
In Harry Potter, the basilisk is a snake. A snake who, when makes eye contact, kills. By staring. I thought that such a snake lived, for a while. Now I've learned differently- a basilisk is merely a cute little lizard, looking to me like a baby dragon! Well, I dunno if that's true... it might be poisonous or something.
I am posting this so that you can see the adorable, if frightening, basilisk. Don't ever ever again think of a basilisk as a murderous snake. Please.
