Spring Break!

On Sunday, March seventh, we headed out to Ruidoso, New Mexico, for Spring break! We left at about ten, and got there about... eight or nine, maybe. I won't go deep into details.

When we arrived, Homer was so delighted to be there, that he was just running around like an angel. We hat hotdogs for supper, and I stayed up till eleven reading WARRIORS: Bluestar's Prophecy Super Edition. It was really sad.

On Monday, I got up at about eight and had some sugared cereal for breakfast. I read Bluestar's Prophecy some more, and finished it. I cried three times during it and for about an hour afterwards. Other than that, I didn't do much.

On Tuesday, I did basically the same, but I was reading Guardians of Ga'Hoole, The Capture. It is about owls. I rolled around in a bit of snow with my big stuffed dog, named Big Dog.

On Wednesday, it was bright and sunny and cold. We went to town buying stuff, pardon the pun. I got three locker buddies for myself, which are like tiny stuffed animals with magnets in their paws. I named them all after places in New Mexico, and renamed one of my old ones. First, a grey and white pug, named Marble Court, the street the Ruidoso house is on. Then, a really orange cat, and her name is Sunny Slopes, some random street. Then, a light grey one, named Misty Mountain, a gourmet sweet shop. Then, the older one, is a siamese cat whose name WAS Eena Jane but is now Piney Woods, because there are soooooooo many pine trees in Ruidoso! I now have seventeen locker buddies. I also got, for my friend Rose, a little wooden box that when you open the box, a little bug wiggles his silver legs. His name is Bob. I bought Atheena something too, but she hasn't gotten it yet so I won't say what it is. I also got myself a little ring bowl at our favorite pottery shop, and my Mom got me a little box shaped like a rabbit that is purple and it has a necklace inside of little bunny. It is going to be an Easter Present. I am now going to forget all about it.

On Thursday, my Mom and I made some shrink art jewelry! My Mom made these gorgeous earrings that are blue squares, with a purple oval hanging down that looks like a feather, and a little square full of punched holes in a pattern called filigree. I made a pair of earrings, too, only they are circles and one has cherries on it and the other a strawberry. I also made another ring. I will post pictures sometime.

On Friday, we left around ten o'clock, and I listened to ARtemis Fowl almost the entire time. The trip went really fast. So, now that you've sped through it, I will go and do something worthwhile. Toodles!

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

J.K. Rowling, the well known author of the Harry Potter books, wrote this book excellently, in my taste. Even if it is not my favorite of all seven books, I still find that it is a great work of literature. I enjoy the fact that it takes a great, surprising twist at the end, and if you haven't read it yet, sorry for giving that away.

As I said in my other reviews for Harry Potter, you have probably read it. I don't know though, and if you haven't, also said in the other reviews, do, if possible. They are written by a superb writer, and altogether hooking.

Killers eye? I think not.

This picture is of a basilisk. If you haven't read the second Harry Potter book, don't continue.

In Harry Potter, the basilisk is a snake. A snake who, when makes eye contact, kills. By staring. I thought that such a snake lived, for a while. Now I've learned differently- a basilisk is merely a cute little lizard, looking to me like a baby dragon! Well, I dunno if that's true... it might be poisonous or something.

I am posting this so that you can see the adorable, if frightening, basilisk. Don't ever ever again think of a basilisk as a murderous snake. Please.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

J. K. Rowling's second book is as good as her last- almost better. I myself get a bit spooked by it. I'd tell you why, but I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read it. (Who hasn't?) I love all of the characters in this one, both the funny and insane, and sure hope that everybody likes 'em as much as I do.

Have you read this? I highly don't doubt it. I mean, who hasn't? I know of only a few people who haven't. And they are missing out. Joanne Rowling is a great writer, and her works are classic. Very original, I must say.

Harry Potter and the Philosipher's Stone

Joanne Rowling's first book is an amzing one. She is a spectacular writer, and I myself like to think that our style is partway the same. Of course, I am wrong in several ways, probably all. But I think that, since I have read the books so many times, they have had an affect on my writing skills. Not to say it's a bad affect. I like my writing.

With Harry Potter, you'll have to like magic. Because this book IS magic, if you catch my drift. It starts out so simple, but as the story continues, you find that Harry is a... meddlesome person. Curious, perhaps. This book is good because he's not good at absolutely everything. I doubt you haven't read it. Read it again. Duh.

The Shrinkydink Photos At Last!

March Sunshine bring April Showers, which bring May Flowers

With a new month, there come new things. "Like what?" you might ask.

Well let me tell you. March is the month which ends winter and brings spring. This is good news for some, bad for others. Or perhaps you're inbetween, like me! I don't want winter to end. I love curling up next to the fire with a mug of hot chocolate and a good book, presumably Artemis Fowl or Harry Potter. But at the same time, I yearn for warm weather and cloudless skies. (though to tell the truth, we've been getting some of that in winter. Not that we usually don't.)

Spring break also comes with March. A break from school and work–what all of us need every once in a while. I myself and going away. Mwahahaha. I and my family (well, Mary Margaret, my Mom, my Dad, and me, and Homer, the dog, and Mary Margaret's friend Joan Dougherty) are are heading out to Ruidoso, New Mexico on Sunday! Yippee!

Hmm... what else does march bring about? Not much. It's the third month of the year, but that's not much.

I'm going to post some pictures of the shrinkydinks in just a minute. I really will this time.. sorry for the delay!
